The Seafarers Program is a scheme by Tetra Foundation & GoodWork Marine that targets the issue of youth unemployment in Nigeria by providing quality maritime training, sea-time experience and globally recognized certifications that will create a skilled high-earning youth workforce poised to support growth in global & in-country marine infrastructure and investments.

Who can apply?

  • Young vibrant youth (female & male) within the age range of 16-20 years old.

What are the requirements?

  • - Educational:
    • WASSCE
    • Physics: >B3
    • Chemistry: >B3
    • Mathematics: >B3
    • English: >C4
    • Geography: >B3
  • - Identity:
    • Birth Certificate / any Government Issued Certificate as Proof of Birth
    • National ID card
  • - Health:
    • Good eyesight
    • No colour blindness Should be certified by a registered ophthalmologist

Before you apply, please read the following

  • Ensure to have a digital/scanned copy that shows the above-listed requirements!
  • Ensure that the data you provide is 100% accurate as will be documented and reverenced for subsequent application processes.
  • You will have to come with a proof of good eyesight from a certified/registered doctor for your physical interview.
  • You may be required to present copies of your recent passport photographs. Size: 3.5cm × 4.5cm, Face size - 75% to 80% of the photo.
  • Any information you provide will be used strictly for your application process and will likely be shared with relevant parties in consideration of your sponsorship in this program.
  • We respect information privacy and will not share your information with third parties outside of the sponsorship program.
  • Please note that fields marked with a "*" are mandatory. 
  • The GoodWork team will communicate with applicants through email and phone contact. Applicants should ensure that the phone numbers and email addresses provided are accurate and active to receive important information and feedback.
  • After the written assessment successful applicants will be required to take an online psychometric test.
  • Upon evaluation, selected applicants will be invited for a virtual or in-person interview conducted by independent panels.
  • Applicants who are discovered to have provided false information during any stage of the application and selection process will be disqualified. 
  • Any attempt by the candidate to influence the selection process will lead to automatic disqualification.
